Proud Educators’ Story Night

A live storytelling night where LGBTQ+ educators share stories about the intersection of their identity and their experiences in schools.

Proud Educators’ Story Night launched in June 2019 with 8 storytellers sharing their stories around the intersection between their LGBTQ+ identity and their experiences in schools. The audience was tightly packed in the garden backyard of the venue, and immediately upon completion, more educators approached with interest to tell a story.

Now, we gather three times a year (October, February and June) to provide opportunities for LGBTQ+ educators to share stories- of triumph, struggle, change, power, humor- but most of all-authenticity. We hope that by amplifying the stories of many, we can change the dialogue for all.
