Hello! I am Lissette, I use she/her pronouns, and I am a District Literacy Coach. I am passionately committed to fostering an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all students. My journey as an educator took a transformative turn when I openly shared my Queer identity with a sixth-grade class, only to be met with advice to keep my personal life separate from my teaching. In a moment when I needed community, I came to Proud Educators. This pivotal moment ignited my passion for representation and advocacy in education, shaping my commitment to creating spaces where every member of the school community feels seen and valued. With a focus on centering joy in the classroom and fostering safe schools, my work exemplifies my belief that every student deserves a learning space where they can thrive both academically and personally.

When I am not at work I enjoy ceramics, event planning, and spending time with my family. In recent years I have made it my goal to center my own joy through authenticity. In this journey, I find myself trying new things and seeking out opportunities to learn and grow.
