Hi, my name is Jeremy Hasson and I am a Career Counselor and Assistant Department Head at KIPP NYC College Prep in the Bronx. I arrived in New York from Texas in 2019 after serving as a College Counselor and teacher for high school juniors and seniors with KIPP Austin Public Schools.

Growing up, my mom was a teacher and while I admired her work, I never thought I would become one. However, my experience mentoring and welcoming college freshmen as an Orientation Advisor at UT Austin (hook ‘em!) inspired me to join the College Advising Corps, which started my journey at KIPP back in 2015.

In Austin, I was also a member of the Q Austin, an MPowerment program through AIDS Services of Austin that creates spaces for sexual health education, testing and community building in the queer community. I’m very happy to have found his niche in the NYC queer educator community to serve and call home!
