Hi, my name is Wayne Reed (he/him). I'm a teacher educator in the School of Education at Brooklyn College. I've been a part of Proud Educators from its founding in 2013-2014. My commitment to the work is based on my belief that educators are most effective in schools when they're free to be themselves. My experience is that truth and authenticity are central to best teaching practice. This work offers LGBTQ+ educators both community and support as they negotiate the ever-changing challenges of teaching while queer.

Who I am has been significantly influenced by the places I lived and worked over the years: New Mexico, Texas, Ireland, Memphis, Tennessee and Brooklyn, New York.
